As I alluded to above, this storyline is what makes this movie appealing.

The two have good chemistry as well, which is a plus for a romance film. She had a warm and gentle vibe to her performance that was lovely to watch on-screen. I was impressed with Cole's performance in particular. Simply put: it lacked that X factor, something to make it stand out in a crowd. However, the story is slow at times, boring even. Moreover, the underlining message about the value of friendship and forgiveness resonates well on-screen with, for example, a heartfelt and touching scene towards the end between the two fathers, Bill (played by Garry Chalk) and Frank (played by John Cassini). The writers do a good job of developing and capturing a romantic connection between the two that is believable and engaging.
One of the strengths of the story, I thought, was the dialogue and interaction between Tony and Grace. They also begin to discover their feelings for each other along the way. As Grace and Tony work behind the scenes to help each other and their fathers, they begin to realize that they must find a way to work together to win the competition.
The old rivalry is stirred up again this Christmas as the two families enter the Bright Nights competition (with its $50,000 grand prize). This mildly entertaining Romeo and Juliet tale meets the art/business of Christmas decoration revolves around Grace (played by Taylor Cole) and Tony (played by Carlo Marks) whose fathers are former business partners/friends turned feuding adversaries. Though a sweet romance with a noble underlining message, the story, at times, is slow, even tiresome, I'm afraid. ***In accordance to CDC guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic, mask wearing and social distancing are strongly encouraged while on our facilities, parks, and trails.'Making Spirits Bright' is a decent Christmas movie, not one of Hallmark's best nor one of their worst this season.

On Saturday, December 11, from 6pm to 9pm, come back to enjoy an intimate event full of giveaways, food trucks and a large cinema screen showcasing a video about SPC events, including last year’s all-virtual Illume, and a short documentary about the temporary installation.
Meet the artist and enjoy FREE Mexican hot chocolate and bunuelos provided by Vero’s Café. The installation will be up through January 3, 2022. The nocturnal music and sculptures will come together to create a kind of abstract symphony. During the nighttime the sculptures will “wake up” and illuminate with color changing LED lights and corresponding multicultural musical score created by San Antonio-based musician Alberto Vazquez. The temporary installation, titled Babbling, will be located beneath the street bridges and in the creek channel.ĭuring the daytime these sculptures will lay “dormant” while visually standing out against the natural environment. On Friday, December 10, visitors to San Pedro Creek Culture Park will discover a variety of vibrant, whimsical sculptures designed by San Antonio-based artist Justice David Gutierrez. The San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) is excited to invite everyone back to the creek! SPCCP is a family-friendly destination where culture, art and nature are celebrated through a variety of events and programs, including the annual holiday light display and temporary artwork installation. As in previous years, the event will feature the food, dance, music, and art of our diverse and festive community.
